Sometimes I have difficulty changing 1 yo as he tries to flip over and wiggle away. I thought this would help. Unfortunately as soon as I fastened him in he thought it was the worst thing that ever happened to him in his whole life. He did not calm down until I finished and released him. Also, for the price, I thought it included the changing pad, not so, all you get is a fabric strap to fasten around an existing pad and two flaps to fasten around the baby's body. They look soft and comfortable and the velcro holds them firmly in place however my grandson was thrashing around so much that he still managed to flip himself over. Overall the restraint is not helpful to me at all.I am not sure if I would have survived without this product. Those diaper changes when they start to roll over and know how to sit up… it’s a nightmare. They are really a wriggly worm and flip flop like a fish out of water. Diaper change became a 3 person job, until I got this. And then it was surely a breather.Although My baby soon learnt how to undo the Velcro, But it still helped make him stay in the diaper changing station for quite some time. Just wish the Velcro was stronger ;)I had high hopes of this product, and I still might give it a few more tries, however... be warned that if your baby isn't expecting the super loud "Rrrrrriiiip!" of the massive amount of velcro coming off (I get that it's a restraint), they just may have a full-blown meltdown like mine did... he's almost 9 months old, relatively used to disruptive noises, but this... he just wasn't expecting. Can't say I blame the guy!I'll give it a few more tries of gradually opening it, likely while distracting him with something else, but if I feel it's too many hoops to go through rather than just deal with his acrobatics, so be it.Really depends on the baby but this has worked wonders for mine. I’ve had it for a couple months now (ages 10 months to 12m) and it still restrains him. It mimics the sensation of being swaddled so it instantly calms him when he’s on the changing table. Before I got this I was having to change him on the floor with my legs holding him down and he would scream his head off. Now diaper changes are pleasant again because he’s happy and calm and I’m not frustrated. For the most part I like this product. It slows my son down - a little bit - when he immediately tries to roll to his belly. My only complaint is that I wish there was another strap 90 degrees from the main one. If my son is determined enough, he can still roll over, and it simply twists the main strap. My little one was rolling and crawling and starting to alligator roll when I was trying to change the diaper. I am a cloth diapering Mama so changing a cloth diaper does take a few seconds longer to change than a disposable diaper, and when I was out in public changing the diaper at a public changing table was causing me to be fearful that my little one would fall off the changing table. Only after one day of use at home my little one has stopped struggling during diaper changes, since he can't move, he has stopped fighting it and is back to his former patient little one whom will lay down until his diaper is completely changed. A little miracle to me :)My baby fought laying down for diaper changes immediately and with such strength we couldn’t hold her down and she did jt every time... imagine poopy diaper battles. This product worked to hold her in place. Now she knows when she is wrapped to hold still in changing table and only fights when in a new location. It trained her to hold still in one spot. She still fights other spots but hey I can always move the wrap and eventually she will learn. In the meantime whether she fights staying put or not, it keeps her in place. Love this. Worth every penny!!!Bought this for 3.5 year old special needs kid - we’ll be changing her diapers for foreseeable future. Absolutely genius. Wish it was available for larger kids - when she grows another inch I will probably have to hack the Velcro but if it comes in a larger size by then will buy a bigger one!!!!
