Description

"At the forefront of a new generation of UFOlogists, Micah Hanks is someone who isn't afraid to tackle new paradigms, ideas, and theories. The future of flying saucer seeking is in good hands!" —Nick Redfern, author of The NASA ConspiraciesWhy and how are past unexplained phenomena changing our future?Where will transcending the bounds of current thinking lead? How near is the singularity? The UFO Singularity finally reveals what UFO phenomena can tell us about greater-than-human intelligence, and offers provocative theories of where such intelligence might originate. You'll explore the most challenging metaphysical questions and the latest scientific thoughts about them, including: What is the singularity, and how does it relate to UFOs?Could some UFOs be from our plane? Could they actually be time travelers from our future? What current scientific trends are leading us to the kinds of advanced technology we've observed in various UFO reports? Are there other ways in which UFOs could be considered "extraterrestrial visitors" in our midst, even if they didn't get here in the way that most people think (via interplanetary space flight)?

This is well written and gets five stars for starting the discussion about the relationship of the singularity to the UFO enigma. The analysis I personally have issues with and the personal bent of the author seems to override logic at some points. That being said, he remains scholarly and is pursuing alternative explanations. The author seems to discount the ETH (Extra-Terrestrial Hypothesis) as much as possible and leans toward his pet theory of human time travelers from our future. While it is possible that some few percent of cases reflect time time travelers, I still find this explaination highly unlikely after reading this book, and believe the ETH, as the most likely explanation. The book is valuable because some cases may not be extra-terrestrial (we do not know) and all alternatives should be considered. He also sometimes uses inaccurate facts, such as claiming that the aliens which Travis Walton encountered were Grays, which Travis has stated was not the case. He does these kinds of maneuvers to show that there are very few species involved in visitation to fit his theory, while a clear review of the UFO literature would indicate there are hundreds, as opposed to the standard few (Gray, Nordic, Reptilian, Mantis) which is popular internet mythology.Since there are limited clear facts, this book represents a good thought experiment along alternative theory lines, especially focusing on visitation from our future. Without considering the singularity in relation to these phenomena, most books are missing most logical possibilities, so the author has definitely moved the discussion in the right direction..
