So pretty to watch it change.Bought this for Christmas for my brother in law, who is a planet nut and he loves it. 5 starsN/AThis mug is good looking cold but when hot the solar system scene becomes visible even ABOVE the water line. Also, the planets stay visible until the drink temperature drops to warm.Would’ve given a 5 star rating because it works well but because it’s not dishwasher proof, only 4 stars. What can I say - I don’t like hand washing dishes ;/Firstly, I want to make it clear that they do state int he product information that this is not dishwasher safe. They mean it. Never have I ever seen that as a truer description for a piece of drinkware.So, I bought this and gave it to my dad for father's day and told him it was not dishwasher safe. And I told my mother it was not dishwasher safe. But somebody forgot and it went through the dishwasher once and the picture, which is just a wrap on the outside, completely shriveled up. So now it is a plain black mug.The idea of this mug is cool, but you have to remember to never ever, not even one time, put this in the dishwasher. If this is going to be your office mug that you wash yourself and never ever have to worry about somebody doing the dishes for you and potentially forgetting, then this is for you. It's hard to want to gift this to someone when you have to put so many conditions on them to maintain this gift.My partner loves all things space & I bought this for her for Christmas. Initially, she was unsure because the mug appears plain but her face lit up when she filled it with a hot drink. A perfect gift for all space wonderers of all ages.I have my morning and night drink out of this cup it reminds me of when I'm looking at some distance planet on my telescope in garden night time .
